Snowpulse "Inflation System 1.0" Recall

We have been asked to inform you about a precautionary recall on the old system Snowpulse cylinders. The cylinders for the “Inflation System 1.0” have a defective pressure gauge and MUST be replaced. Cartridges from the recent 2011/12 winter season as well as all Mammut airbag products which use “Inflation System 2.0” are NOT affected by this recall.

The Snowpulse cylinders are equipped with a pressure gauge, also known as a manometer. In some case, it has been discovered that a critical defect can appear over time which causes a leak in this gauge leading to a drop in air pressure and sometimes all the air escaping. Obviously this means that in use the airbag will inflate insufficiently or not at all.

As a result of this defect Snowpulse and their owners Mammut Sports Group AG have decided to recall and replace all Snowpulse cylinders from the Inflation System 1.0.

The recall and canister exchange in Europe will be handled by Snowpulse/Mammut Sports Group AG.

Snowpulse have create a help desk to handle this recall (helpdesk@snowpulse.com) and this is who you will need to contact to start the replacement process. They will also be able to assist in answering any query or you can visit the Recall section of the Snowpulse website for more infomation.
