The Black Diamond Outlaw AvaLung is a mid-sized, all-purpose backcountry ski pack designed to go where you ski, be it going large at a terrain park, hiking for side-country freshies or a day of touring deep in the backcountry. Durable, versatile and practical, the Black Diamond Outlaw AvaLung ski pack has numerous features that set it apart from any others. The Black Diamond Outlaw come with ergoACTIV suspension and SwingArm shoulder straps. The key to the ergoACTIV suspension is a proprietary, custom-shaped ball joint that attaches the hipbelt to the frame. This simple, durable three-dimensional system allows the hipbelt, and by extension the skier, backpacker or alpine climber, to move unrestricted in any direction. SwingArm Shoulder Straps move in concert with a hiker’s stride, a skier’s turn or an alpinist’s reach by sliding through the bottom of the pack with low-friction cable and housing. Each strap is linked to the other by the cable, which maintains an even, balanced load across both shoulders. The AvaLung mouthpiece delivers fresh air from the intake box and expels CO2 to the exhaust port. The fresh air is pulled from the snow through a bi-valve intake box located in the shoulder strap and the exhaled CO2 is then directed away from the body through an integrated exhaust port at the base of the pack. The AvaLung mouthpiece and tubing stow away in the left side shoulder strap when not in use. An insulated hydration sleeve is in the right side shoulder strap. The Black Diamond Outlaw AvaLung is a streamlined, lightweight, full front and backpanel zippered access, backcountry ski pack. If you’re buried in an avalanche, can your buddies dig you out in 15 minutes? Without an AvaLung, that’s typically all the fresh air you’ll have to breathe. After 15 minutes, your chances for survival are slim to none. Equipped with an AvaLung, however, you can significantly extend your fresh air supply.
